Oh, What a Week! 32 Weeks Pregnant Update

So, I had a Dr. appointment last Tuesday and it turns out I was in labor! I have been getting ultrasounds of my cervix to see how things are going (if that's TMI then you better stop reading there haha) and that's how they knew what was going on. I knew what I was looking for during the ultrasound, and when I didn't see it I was a little confused. The tech looked a little shocked and was like, "Uhh stay here and I will be right back. I need to talk to your midwife." I asked her what was going on and she was hesitant to tell me. I told her I had a good idea what was going on because I was familiar with the ultrasound, but it would be nice to have some clarity. She said that my cervix was completely thinned and the bag of waters was bulging. (Bag of waters-that almost always makes me chuckle!) I could hardly believe it! I was wheeled straight from my appointment to be admitted to the hospital. The Dr.'s office is in the same building as the hospital so that made things easy. I was put on medicine to postpone labor and also given steroid shots for the baby's lungs. The NICU nurses were in and out of the room setting up and it was kinda crazy. Everyone at first was telling me if they were able to stop labor from progressing then I would be stuck there until I was 36 weeks. The whole time I kept thinking about how I wouldn't be able to hang out with my kids and how sad I was about that! I was only having a couple contractions an hour and the Dr. said that it was probably just enough of that that caused things to be how they were. I was able to leave after a couple of days and put on meds and strict bed rest. Blah! I feel like I am constantly contracting, laying down or not, so this baby is probably coming sooner than later. I am glad that I was able to get the steroid shot and am also grateful for the extra time our baby girl has had to cook! Cindy has been taking care of my kids, and I am SO grateful for that. It makes me sad because I miss taking care of my kids and spending time with them. I also feel bad for Cindy!! I just try to remember this is will be a short time. Thank you to those who have helped us! We really appreciate it!

31 (almost) Weeks Pregnant Belly

 

 

I am huge! I actually haven't gained much weight. I weigh three pounds more than I weighed 6 weeks ago, even though I am a LOT bigger. Go figure! Maybe it's because this little girl is trying to make an early appearance and I am carrying low and right out front. I was having really bad hip pain/pressure last week, so I decided to go to the hospital (It's such a great thing I am Native because I get free health care anywhere a reservation is!). I was pretty much fully effaced and the baby is engaged and ready to come. Crazy, eh? I was bummed to hear that, but at the same time it made me feel like less of a baby. I knew I was in a decent amount of pain! I am on a few medicines for preterm labor which makes me swell pretty badly and gives me headaches. Other than that it's been doing a good job of keeping the baby in longer. My goal for now is to make it to 35 weeks. She is measuring a week and a few days bigger in weight, so that's a good thing! It's been really nice to be at my parent's house. My family is really helpful, and it has been awesome! It's also been really nice to spend time with them. I think I might have a hard time adjusting when we go back home! My kid's have grown a ton since we've been here. V is saying a lot more, and it's so fun and cute! Mattix is really social and loves to show off. He will do different things and when he does something that makes you laugh he will keep doing it. He is such a funny kid!! He does like to pick on Vella, though. We have to watch him because he can be a real stinker to her! We decided on a name for our next baby girl, finally. All of this preterm labor nonsense made me feel like we really needed to get on the ball with that! We will announce it soon. I miss Greg a lot. He wasn't able to come down on Saturday because of car issues, and I have been dieing to be with him again. The car is fixed and he should be down tomorrow.  I can hardly wait!!!!!

29 Week Pregnant Belly!

 

Me and all my roundness. I feel pretty big. Okay, I'll be honest... freaking huge! Today I was thinking about all the growing I have left and thought maybe this will be one of my last belly pictures, haha. I am quite embarrassed, but here I am. For now!

Halloween

The kids and I are in AZ, so we were able to spend Halloween with my family. It was a lot of fun! I had to coax Vella into keeping her costume on, haha. Once she had it on she hardly noticed it. We gave away candy at the door for a little while before we went out to trick or treat. Vella loved giving the candy out! It was so sweet. She got really excited when she saw little girls and wanted to play with them so badly. It surprised me how social she was! Whenever she saw a little girl she would jump up and down and try to go play with them. It was sweet. We took the double stroller and went trick or treating around the neighborhood. The first few doors V tried to go into the houses, because she didn't understand what was going on exactly. She caught on pretty quickly. When people would give V candy, she would put it in my brother or sister's bag because she liked giving candy out so much. It was really sweet. We had so much fun!

26 Weeks

 

 

Well, 26 weeks has come to an end and now I am in my 3rd trimester. This is a horrible view of my tummy, but I love seeing the baby move! I don't think there is a nice view of my tummy anyway. According to Baby2see.com this baby is 2 pounds and 14.5 inches. What a big nugget! I can't wait to meet her :) I have a feeling her personality will be like mine. I am not sure if that's a good or bad thing, but I think I will learn a lot about myself from her. I am excited.
